You will already have noticed the great hubbub on the outdoor site. With the
future Place du Quartier des spectacles project charging full steam
ahead, a number of changes will be visible from one end of the Francos site
to the other. For example, the Zone Molson Dry is now located on
the Clark parking lot, the Monde urbain Vidéotron has moved
to the northeastern esplanade of Place des Arts, while from now on Place
Loto Québec will be found at Parc Fred Barry. And then there’s
this year’s arrival of Espace vert
Desjardins on the Place
des Arts esplanade, with its special focus on the environment!
This year, the Francos also have a new, highly original performance venue.
In order to offer even more concerts to the many Francos fans, the Pavillon
Air Transat joins the other halls on the program. With its Spiegel Tent-style
and reflecting the old Magic Mirrors of the 19th century, this new big-top/hall,
which is 100% dismountable and imported from Europe by boat, stands at the
corner of Maisonneuve and Bleury streets. It will be staging the French trio
Jeanne Cherhal/Katel/Ours, followed by four stints into Stefie Shock’s
microcosme, and manouche sans guitare performances by gypsy-at-heart
Thomas Dutronc.
