This 20th anniversary edition will not only welcome the brightest musical
lights from the French-speaking world, but also artists from here and abroad
in a world tour featuring musical diversity and enthralling energy.
The program will feature more than 50 indoor concerts and no fewer than five special
events, including the eagerly awaited Pierre Lapointe appearing in four exclusive
performances of Mutantès. This lavish new creation mounted
especially for the Francos’ 20th anniversary is a unique multidisciplinary-concept
concert directed by the renowned Claude Poissant and starring some dozen
actors/singers, who will take us on a journey into the dreamlike world of
the singer!
Then there’s the opening show by Les Moquettes Coquettes,
Les pop et rock, 20 ans de FrancoFolies, who will be parading an impressive
slate of guests in a great musical gala resembling a full-fledged happening.
Not to mention a return performance by Michel Fugain — whom the Francos
have not seen for the past 12 years! — in Carte blanche à…
Michel Fugain, with Véronique Sanson,
Bruno Pelletier and Daniel Lavoie.
Followed by five different shows starring Gregory Charles, in One piano,
one voice, 100 songs, who will bring alive one decade of francophone
song each evening. And lastly, the closing concert, Felix, L’homme
de paroles, dedicated to the much-revered Félix Leclerc: a great
homage to a great man.
