Marie-Andrée Bergeron grew up in Châteauguay, studied singing, acting, and dancing, and chose her stage name while she was still a teenager. In 2001, she won Premier Prix d'interprétation and Mention du public in the Ma première Place des Arts competition, and in 2002, released her self-titled debut album, which included the multilingual hit Baïla. In 2008, she performed in the opening show of the FrancoFolies de Montréal as well as staging her own show at the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal. Her disc Smile (2007) went platinum, remaining a top 10 bestseller for over 60 weeks. Her recent release, Precious (2011), is a collection of love songs from the 1960s and 1970s, initially made popular by male performers (Rod Stewart, Simon and Garfunkel, Johnny Nash...). Three years later, she presents the album Love moi.
