Martha Wainwright

Genres: Country/Folk, Rock
Origin: Quebec, Canada

Born to a famous musical clan, Martha Wainwright is the daughter of Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle. After dabbling in drama at university, she decided to fully embrace her musical calling. The singer-songwriter's first compositions appeared on Ground Floor, a 1997 self-produced cassette recording. The following year, she was featured on The McGarrigle Hour, an album masterminded by her mother Kate and aunt Anna. After releasing a few EPs and joining her brother Rufus on tour as backing vocalist, the artist recorded her first eponymous CD in 2005. Follow-up I Know You're Married But I've Got Feelings Too came out three years later. In 2009 she released the live recording and Edith Piaf tribute Sans fusils, ni souliers, à Paris. Come Home to Mama followed three years later.
