Alpha Blondy et le Solar System

Along with Tiken Jah Fakoly, Alpha Blondy is undeniably the most celebrated reggae figure in French-speaking Africa. Inspired by-and often compared to-Bob Marley (as much for his charisma as his committed stance), Burning Spear and the other greats from the Jamaican tradition, Blondy is a mystic, a seeker, a pacifist, touring the world to spread the message of peace and unity. He will be here this summer to present the grand premiere of his new album-and anyone who caught him in 2009 will remember how he raised the roof in Métropolis during the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal in 2009.
