Sunny days ahead!

As we approach this 29th edition of the FrancoFolies, we once again invite you to join us in celebrating francophone music in all its brilliance, splendour and vitality, with artists from home and abroad performing in a vast range of styles and genres. It’s a musical voyage from New Brunswick to the Congo, with stops in the Central African Republic, Belgium, Switzerland, Guinea, Algeria and France, not to mention, of course, a tremendous romp through a cross-section of Québécois artists! This is a rich, diverse and sunny program ready to transport us to the warm days and nights of summer!

This year, the FrancoFolies de Montréal celebrate their 29th birthday, meaning they’ve now been an integral part of our cultural landscape for 29 years. Needless to say, the festival has evolved. It has grown, expanding and enlarging its programming, but its mission remains the same. We take great pride in turning the spotlight on the artists and music of the francophonie, contributing to the profile and promotion of a booming music scene.

And you can choose from over 175 shows in 20 series, on 16 stages and venues, to experience the best that the francophone music scene has to offer and keep coming back for more, with surprises, discoveries and major names—in other words, sunny days are ahead!

The summer is about to kick off in fine fashion!

If you wanted to sum up a song in words, it would be relatively simple: lyrics, music, melody.

Of course, its true variations are much more complex… and that is the fascinating reality that the Francos attempt to embrace and express, year in and year out. A song has as many influences as it does interpretations, with arrangements as diverse as styles and desires, conjuring as many colours as it does passions.

From a solo Vianney armed with his trusty guitar to Klô Pelgag and the 28 musicians of her Orchestre du Temple Thoracique, from the wild party of Rymz to the meticulous precision demanded by a show like Demain matin, Montréal m’attend or the sweet madness of Pierre Lapointe, all the elements are converging to make this 29th edition of the Francos something truly memorable, in perfect symbiosis with the exciting spirit of the times!

And you still don’t even have all the details of the complete menu, because in a few short weeks, we will unveil an outdoor program guaranteed to satisfy the most exacting musical gourmets and enthusiasts alike!

Get ready to open your eyes and ears wide, the summer is about to kick off in fine fashion!
